our latest Exhibitor Interview we caught up with Bernhard Hüppmeier, Business Development at Brabender Technologie GmbH & Co. KG to talk about patented equipment technology including FlexWall®Plus and FiberXpert, and what he's most looking forward to
at this years' Compounding World Expo. Brabender Technologie GmbH & Co. KG is one of the world's leading manufacturers of gravimetric feeding and metering devices (with digital weighing technology) and discharge devices.
With 63 years of experience on the market, approx. 12,000 different ingredients have been handled and processed in approx. 40,000 applications
What do you think is currently the biggest challenge facing your industry?
Our delivery program includes LiW feeders, weigh belt feeders, volumetric feeders, batch weighing systems, bag dumpers, bin activators (BAV), big bag discharging stations and flowmeters for bulk materials as well as liquid LiW feeders. In addition, we supply accessories such as Jet filters and refill valves.
All equipment must be suitable to use in the plastics, food, chemical and pharma industry.
Therefore we put our focus on:
- High quality and customer-oriented service
- Dosing units for any bulk material
- The worldwide presence
- High-precision dosing
- Ready for industry 4.0
What do you think sets your company apart from your competitors?
We have specialized as a manufacture of components and subsystems. So we don’t compete with extruder manufactures or engineering companies in plant engineering. Nevertheless we give assistance about planning, correct feeder installation and integration into the line control.
In reference of equipment technology, we have the patented FlexWall®Plus and the patented FiberXpert. LiW- Feeders can be equipped with a digital load cell to guarantee extreme high accuracy because of the very high resolution.
Are there any new technology developments that your company is working on at the moment?
There are always new developments on the feeders and controllers to make the life of the operators easier. This includes cleaning concepts, easier exchangeability from single to twin screws, web-server based verification of the feeder values via Mobil devices or OPC-UA interface direct on the feeder.
But we are also increasing our international presence in terms of sales and service. News and general information can be found on our website but also at www.bt-cito.com.
What are you most looking forward to at this years’ show? You attended the launch show in 2018, what did you gain from the experience?
We expect the same response as at the last show. There could be more enquiries about recycling and biopolymers. New requirements for the feeding of additives for the production of recyclable plastics could come up. We are, of course, looking forward to make new contacts.
We were very satisfied with the organization during the set-up of the booth. Right after the start of the show the booth was full of people. It was also surprising that so many international customers visited our booth.
The presentations during the show showed the market development of the different plastics to which we have to adapt when developing new devices and controls.
